Professionalism Through Knowledge

Training Events and Courses nationwide

NALEO has made the strategic decision to cease to do our externally accredited training courses and qualifications at one main annual residential event at Daventry due to the need to be able to keep our professional training at an affordable level for local authorities suffering ever-increased budgetary pressures year-on-year.

NALEO has now worked with the well-respected Highfield Awarding Body

to re-brand our existing suite of courses and qualifications and to develop new ones as the field of licensing expands.

We are pleased to announce that NALEO is a fully-accredited Learning Centre with Highfield and there are now courses and qualifications available on Taxi Licensing, Licensing Act 2003 and the on the Gambling Act 2005 legislation. There is of course also the hands on Basic Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Inspection course and qualification which continues to improve the consistency of vehicle inspection countrywide.

Delegates are required to attend all sessions of any course and to complete any subsequent assignment(s) to the required level in order to gain the award.

The new courses are designed  to meet the professional needs of Members, Solicitors and Licensing Enforcement or Administrative Officers and Committee Clerks involved in working with all of the above  areas of legislation.

NALEO is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority to award CPD points for its courses.

As an example of the quality of our courses the Gambling Act informs officers on topics such as:

  • The role of the Gambling Commission
  • Duties of the Licensing Authority
