Following from the end of the very successful NALEO National Annual General Meeting held in Birmingham on the 25 October 2018 the NALEO website has now been updated on the Committee page with the new or amended contact details for the next year 2018-19.
Members were told at the meeting that after 25 years the well-known Dave Blurton has stood down from his duties as a National Committee Member (and lately Treasurer) and after 23 years the also well-known John Thompson has stood down from the National and North West Region Committee and from the Memberships Officer/ Website post.
The new Committee wish both long serving members best wishes for the future. In return both Dave and John invite younger members to get involved with the Regional and National Committees and shape the future of licensing.
As John has said:
"Sometimes you are expected to work but the results achieved, the cameraderie and the downright fun that can occur working as a volunteer for NALEO have made it for me a well spent 23 years involvement."
Both Dave and John were, some years ago, awarded Honorary membership of NALEO in recognition of their hard work on behalf of NATPHLEO and latterly NALEO and so remain life members of the Association.
Whilst Dave intends to enjoy retirement to the full, John remains a serving Principal Hackney Carriage Licensing officer at Knowsley Council on Merseyside with a further 7 1/2 years to State retirement age. John is still likely to be actively involved in Licensing matters.
Further details of the AGM and presentations etc will be uploaded to the NALEO website in due course.
